THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME OF THIS DESIGN:

This design is named after one of my best friends who is getting married this year. It only felt right to give her the “bride to be” option for obvious reasons but there is so much more to that story.

I met Shannon when she was just 3 years old. Our parents bowled on the same bowling league and our mom’s quickly became good friends. Naturally, we would go over to their house to eat dinner and play while our mom’s hung out. I always LOVED going over to their house growing up because they had what you would call the “picture perfect life”. Her parents have always represented the kind of love anyone would dream of in this world. Always so kind to one another, never argumentative and they make each other laugh. No matter what life has thrown their way, they’ve only become more of a team because of it.

Shannon and I lost touch as we grew older but somehow re-connected about 8 or 9 years ago. Since then we have become the best of friends. She is one of most caring friends I’ve ever had. Ask anyone that knows her, she always puts herself last and she would take the shirt off her back if someone needed it. Don’t show her an animal in need - next thing you know it’s going to be living a life of luxury.

Before I moved to Nashville, I would travel here 1-2 times a year to visit Shannon. After I decided to make the big move 3 years ago, I had the pleasure of living with Shannon for a short period of time. OF COURSE, just like best friends do, we have spent countless hours discussing relationships, our dreams, our goals, and what our perfect man looked like. We’ve put on clay masks together and laughed about terrible dates we’ve been on. I just so happen to be the lucky girl that was Shannon’s “roommate” when she met the love of her life, Blake.

You see Shannon has been in more weddings than she can probably count. She has always searched for a love that mimicked her parent’s type of love. She has never been the type of person to settle and has patiently waited her turn for god to present her with the person she would spend the rest of her life with. Of course, just like the rest of us, there were times where the required patience for god’s timing was a little frustrating. To be honest, as someone who is jaded from a divorce, I was cautious to hype her up too much in fear that she’d get her heart broken like I did.

But then Blake came along.

I swear I saw something in her that was just different. He made her feel a way that no guy had ever made her feel. He supported her. He motivated her to be the best version of herself. He didnt try to change or control her. He made her laugh and just like her parents, no matter what life threw their way, they only became more of a team because of it.

This year is HER year. It’s finally her turn. So, it’s not only fitting but PERFECT that the bride-to-be design is named in honor of her.
