THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME OF THIS DESIGN:

One day, long ago, I used to work for the corporate office of a very popular jewlery company. I ran their online department, so it wasnt very often that I had the pleasure of meeting people from the retail stores in person.

One weekend, our company hosted their first warehouse sale! It was a big deal in our small town because this meant that people could snag jewlery, home decor, etc. FIRST and for about half the retail price. Karen, my boss at the time, instructed to me run the checkout table.

When I sat down in my seat to begin counting money, I was quickly introduced to my partner for the day. Her name was Casey. I was only 7 days from walking down the aisle so naturally, our conversation led to boyfriends and ideal husbands quickly. Casey was much younger than I was and was single at the time. I remember asking her what her “qualification list” was. She responded with something along the lines of: “Girl, there isnt a guy out there that’s going to meet all of my qualifications!” and she was dead serious.

I know from time to time we have all said something similiar and joked about it. But, the look on her face was dead set. Her mind was made up. Now don’t get me wrong, she was what someone would label “picky” but she was also beautiful, so fun to be around, had a beautiful heart and would be a total CATCH for any guy that stood an inkling chance. We laughed a lot that day and became very close friends after that. Some might say, she became just what I needed.

Fast forward about one year. I’m happily married at this time and a good friend of mine, Edwin, from college, was going through a “not so pretty” divorce. Casey and I had made plans to hit the town for girls night and i knew that some of my college guy friends, including Edwin, were hanging out at the bar that night, so i suggested we go. I really had no intentions of playing cupid. Little did i know, after about an hour or two, Casey and Edwin were really hitting it off.

This delicacy of the script in this design is what represents my relationship with Casey. I have leaned on her in so many ways throughout the past few years and every time she was one of the first ones to hold my hand (and my hair back ;)) through celebrations and tears. Casey and Edwin’s love gives me hope. My heart was left so damaged after my divorce. It’s still very delicate to this day. Their love teaches me that the right people come in your life just at the EXACT right time and no matter how dead set you are that you’ll be single for the rest of your life, what’s meant to be WILL happen. It also teaches me to not be afraid to open my heart to second chances. Take the risk, It may just turn out PERFECTLY.

Today, Casey and Edwin are happily married with a beautiful baby girl, Tatum Lane.

I can’t say I can take all the credit. But, I can say, I played a really big part ;)
